This female quick disconnect is great in pairs for attaching to threaded female fittings in order to give you a quick and easy way to make connections.
The quick disconnect will hold pressure for typical brewing applications when moving liquids at 50psi or less.
Please note that these quick disconnects are open and do not have a shut-off - when necessary, they should be paired with a ball valve or some component that will allow you to stop or restrict the flow.

Wow these simplify my brew days!!

My brew system was formerly full of shutoff valves and tri-clamp fittings, which are all great and serve their purpose. Since I have shutoff valves on just about every component, I decided to switch from tri-clamp fittings to these quick disconnect fittings and I'm so glad that I did. I use the female barb to QD fittings on all of my hoses, one on each end and I use the male QD fittings on all of my shutoff valves and I've even purchased a few tri-clamp to male QD fittings which I use on my fermenters and pumps for transfering.
All in all, these QD fittings are amazing and I'm glad I converted my system to use them!

These QD fittings are amazing and have simplified my brew process and brew days so much. These save me so much time over messing with my old tri-clamp fittings and gaskets. I'd highly recommend these QD fittings for anyone considering them.
The only think I'll note - If you're geting the Barb to Female QD fittings and you use 1/2" hose for doing your transfers - don't buy the 1/2" barb! Buy the fittings with the "Big Barb" as the ID of the Big Barb is 1/2" and will match your hose perfectly - you just need to stretch the hose over it.
