Sparkling Water Making Kit for Homemade Seltzer & Carbonated Waters — Soda Stream Alternative
This home carbonating kit allows you to carbonate any beverage of your choice. Make your own sparkling water, soda, seltzer water, juice, beer or almost any other beverage you can think of using the sleek 2 liter Stainless Steel Handled-Growler.
The kit is fully assembled and includes:
- Steel Growler with Handle and Travelling Cap (select your size from the dropdown)
- Carbonation Cap with Gas Ball Lock Post and PRV
- 5 lb. CO2 Tank (shipped empty)
- Dual gauge Taprite CO2 regulator
- Gas Hose with Ball Lock Disconnect
Carbonating sodas, seltzers, and any other beverage at home is extremely easy with this setup! Everything you need to get started is included in this kit (all you need to do is get the CO2 tank filled - They ship empty by law).
How to make homemade sparkling water:
- Fill your stainless steel growler with about 3/4 (1500ML) or a little more (you just need to leave a couple of inches of airspace), and screw on the top assembly.
Make sure the liquid is ice-cold, this will help speed up the process of carbonating. CO2 absorbs into cold liquids much better than warm or room temp.
- Set the pressure on your regulator to about 15PSI.
- Attach the ball lock disconnect to the gas-in post.
- Pull the pressure relief valve a few times. This will purge out the oxygen inside the mini keg and replace it with CO2.
- Increase the pressure on your regulator to 30-35 PSI and begin shaking the growler. You will hear the CO2 forcing itself into the growler.
- Do this for a couple of minutes - and you can shake the growler while carbonating to force the CO2 into the liquid faster.
- After the liquid has been carbonated, you can release the pressure from the mini keg by pulling the Pressure Relief Valve (PRV), unscrew the cap, and pour your carbonated beverage into a glass straight from the mini keg.
Use in conjunction with our Soda Extract Flavors, or use your own soda recipe. We often use it around here to make sparkling water.
On average, customers report getting about 180 carbonated liters from a 20 oz CO2 bottle (this kit comes with a 5 lb CO2 Tank, so you will be able to carbonate much more!).
NOTE: The bottle in the photo is for illustration only, it is not included. Just use a standard 1 or 2-liter storebought soda bottle.

This is also great for carbonating sodas, and making your own homemade Topo Chico and other flavor-infused bubble waters!

Great Product! No hassle and as described
By Mike Y · February 6, 2020
Loving this carbonation system. My sodastream died on me and I was tired of paying for their proprietary CO2 refills. I heard about making your own rig for seltzer, but I didn't want to deal with the hassle of ordering all the right parts and connecting it up (I am handy but totally new to carbonation). I went out searching for a "kit" that would have everything I need to start carbonating out of the box. It is a huge bonus that this product is already assembled. All parts are securely fitted together with the correct tubing and adapters. Other than the time it took to go to my local homebrew place to get a CO2 refill the set up was as simple as screwing the regulator onto the tank and I was good to go!
Quality is all there. Brand new tank as advertised. Taprite regulator, and everything is solid.
As far as price it is really not that much more than ordering the pieces a la carte and assembling yourself so there really no downside and you don't have to worry about sketchy quality components or getting the wrong or excess fittings.
I have had a great time carbonating all sorts of beverages and getting comfortable with the system in general. Since this product uses all universal components I can build off of it in the future. I am already looking at making a kegerator type set up for my seltzer!

Worth the money as it's well made

The other reviewer here already said a lot of what needed to be sent but as it's two years old let me add to it.
This kit came perfectly assembled requiring only a few nuts to be tightened and the tank I got was new and recently tested so it will be good for 5 years at my local CO2 provider.
The stainless steel cap is high quality and the build quality is flawless.
This is a much better option than a soda stream as it's much cheaper to operate over time and your helping the environment but now using a bunch of those expensive soda stream cartridges

Pure quality!
By Keg Outlet sparkling water maker · June 26, 2024
Just made soda-water using the Keg Outlet 3.6 L kit. Very high end quality of all components. Excellent staff response to questions.
I have no choice to experiment with a batch of carbonated margaritas!
No need to shop around if you’re looking for a carbonator for alcohol or non- alcohol beverages.

I guess it's my fault.
By Raven · July 16, 2025
I have not even received my kit yet, and I really have nobody to blame except myself, for not researching more. I asked a couple of questions by email about filling the tank. You just find a local place I was told. I read the reviews and saw where people mentioned that they got a new tank and wondered why this was mentioned. Why wouldn't one get a new tank with a new product? Turns out there is no place within a couple hundred miles to fill a tank and I am forced to get whatever tank, however nasty looking it might be, from a local place that has Co2 tank exchanges. So my tank and growler are on the way, and I didn't want to turn my brand new tank without ever using it to get it filled, only to get some rusty tank, so I bought another tank to exchange on the off chance that if I am, and have my tank with me, near a place to fill my new tank I can. I wish I had known.
Response from Keg Outlet
Hi Raven,
We apologize you weren't able to fill the tank in your location. That certainly isn't always the case as there are many gas suppliers, homebrew supply stores and restaurant service companies who will fill these tanks. We're sorry that you weren't able to get it filled in your area. The good news is that these kits will work with any standard CO2 tank that has a CGA 320 valve.
Cheers!
