The Watts 9BD backflow preventer stops beverage fluids or contaminated water from flowing backward into your clean water line. This usually happens during a pressure drop in the supply line or when downstream pressure exceeds the inlet pressure. It is a necessary component for soda carbonators, coffee brewers, and other beverage dispensing systems.

This unit features 3/8" MFL (Male Flare) connections on both ends. This makes it easy to thread directly onto standard flare fittings used in draft and beverage setups. The stainless steel body is durable and designed to handle the demands of commercial beverage environments.

What it does

• A backflow preventer stops water (or other fluids) from flowing backward into the clean water supply. This protects against:
• Back-siphonage – when pressure drops and water is pulled backward
• Back-pressure – when downstream pressure becomes greater than supply pressure
• Without a backflow preventer, contaminants from irrigation systems, carbonators, boilers, beverage equipment, or industrial lines could be sucked back into potable water.
