I was skeptical about Rainbow's Root Beer Extract which I bought at a brew shop in Spokane, Washington. It was the only extract readily available. I used a champagne yeast and cane sugar. I then placed the bottles on their sides. Three days after bottling, the root beer had effervesced to the point that it was drinkable. At that point I placed the rest of the batch on it's side in the refrigerator. A couple of days after that I opened the second bottle. . What a thrill! It was perfect. To the person each stated that it was "awesome," "the best root beer they had ever tasted", and other accolades.

There is no need to search for a different brand of root beer essence.
If it works, don't fix it.
