LME to DME to All-Grain Conversion Chart

This simple chart gives you the values to convert Liquid Malt Extract (LME) to Dry Malt Extract (DME), or to All Grain.

Lets say you are a home brewer that only does extract brewing or, partial mash brewing and you find a recipe that you want to brew but it is all-grain.  This chart allows you to convert the base malts used in the all-grain recipe to either DME or LME!

Likewise if you only have access to DME and the recipe that you found uses LME, this chart will convert LME to DME for you.

Calculations:
DME to LME: Multiple the DME total by 1.25.  If your recipe calls for 4.8 lbs of DME, multiple 4.8 by 1.25 = 6 lbs of LME.
LME to DME: Multiple the LME total by .8. If your recipe calls for 6 lbs of LME, multiple 6 by .8 = 4.8 lbs of DME.
DME to Grain: Multiple the DME total by 1.67.  If your recipe calls for 6 lbs of DME, multiply 6 by 1.67 = 10 lbs of grain.
LME to Grain: Multiple the LME total by 1.33.  If your recipe calls for 6 lbs of LME, multiply 6 by 1.33 = 8 lbs of grain.
Grain to LME: Multiple the Grain total by 1.33.  If your recipe calls for 6 lbs of Grain, multiply 6 by 1.33 = 8 lbs of LME.
Grain to DME: Multiple the Grain total by 1.67.  If your recipe calls for 6 lbs of Grain, multiply 6 by 1.67 = 10 lbs of DME.
