Making soda at home is simple to do these days, and with all the additives that are put into sodas and soft drinks, carbonating your own soda is a great way to know exactly what is going into your beverage. One of the biggest benefits of carbonating soda at home is waste reduction. Home soda carbonation is a great way to “go green”. Just think of all the bottles/cans that you could save by making your own soda, sparkling water, and anything else that you want to be “fizzy”.

Carbonated Fruit Water
Adding fruit to water is not a new concept. Have you been to a spa or ever gotten a massage where they have cucumber water? Imagine that with carbonation! Making a sparkling water with a hint of fruit flavor is easy.
- Select your fruit and cut it into pieces.
- Add fruit pieces and water to your carbonating bottle and put it in the fridge overnight.
- After 8-12 hours in the fridge, carbonate the flavored water (according to instructions on your soda carbonation kit).
- Return your now sparkling water to the fridge, or pour yourself a nice cool glass and enjoy!

Carbonated Gin
The Goodist shared a recipe for carbonated gin. We’ve added a summarized version of it below:
- Cool the gin in the freezer
- Pour desired amount of gin into the carbonating bottle then add water to the fill line.
- Carbonate the gin (according to instructions on your carbonation kit).
- Once done adding carbonation, wait for it to calm and throw it into the fridge (or over ice and ejnoy).
