A cask, also known as a Firkin (10.8 US gallons / 9 Imperial gallons) or a Pin (5.4 US gallons / 4.5 Imperial Gallons), is a traditionally barrel shaped container that stores and ferments beer. Casks were originally made of wood, but are now more commonly made of metal, primarily stainless steel.
